Casa delle Damigiane

For rent directly from owners, this recently restored delightful village house in enchanting hilltop village of Apricale, Italy.

Casa delle damigiane has been, with respect for its former glory, restored in the spring of 2002. When we acquired the house, there where 65 empty damigiane which is the reason for its name. A damigiana being a wine container [demijohn].

When clearing out the house we found a lot of old furniture and “things“. We used and revived them where possible, to recreate its old charm with today’s comfort.

All the ceilings are vaulted and there is an undisturbed panoramic view over the valley, the river, the old olive mill and a little roman bridge. From the balcony breakfast table you can enjoy all of this.
